After 5 years of support, Team Ninja and Square Enix are pulling the plug on updates for Dissidia NT.
In a live stream, Dissidia director Takeo Kujiraoka, revealed that the next update for the game on March 5, 2020 will essentially be the last. The final update will include costumes for some of the current roster, Cloud of Darkness and The Emperor.
Dissidia NT is the fever dream fighting game for Final Fantasy fans. In this version of the game, you’re part of a 3 person team battling to get kills on individuals on the other team. The first team to 3 kills wins the game. You choose from a cast of popular Final Fantasy heroes and villains and fly around the battlefield with melee attacks, magic, and custom skills. The way damage is dealt is the most unique aspect of the system where characters need to whittle down and steal Brave points to deal damage to Hit Points to ultimately kill a character.
Although there won’t be any more updates for the game, the matchmaking servers will remain online for the foreseeable future. So for the Dissidia NT fans who are still having fun battling it out won’t have to worry about putting down their swords.
